Because mental health is such an intimate part of our private lives, Mentallys is committed to providing a service that minimizes the collection, and maintains the confidentiality and security, of your personal data.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how we collect and process personal information relating to your use of the Mentallys application ("App").
Together with the Terms of Use, this Policy constitutes the set of rules applicable to your use of the App. If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the Mentallys App.
The Mentallys App collects a limited amount of personal information in order to ensure the proper functioning of the application and to be able to provide the requested service.
1.1. Mandatory account and profile information: your first name, your email address, your postal code, your password.
1.2. Optional profile information: your last name, your profile picture.
1.3. Optional information you choose to provide : the title and date of events you record in your path; the information you record in your crisis plan (your preferences for facilities, treatments, medications, caregivers, instructions for loved ones, emergency contacts); your location data when you consult the resource map (if you authorize it); the content of chat messages you exchange with peer support workers or healthcare professionals; the results automatically generated by your answers to symptom assessment questionnaires.
The Mentallys App uses the personal data collected as described below.
2.1. Account and profile information : your first and last name are displayed in the chat functionality to facilitate discussion; your e-mail address is used for user account creation, account login, password resets and essential account communications or updates; your postal code is used to verify service availability in your area upon registration; your password is used to ensure secure login to your account.
2.2. Optional profile information : your last name and profile picture are displayed in your profile to make the user experience more user-friendly, and in the chat functionality to facilitate discussion. To protect your privacy, on the main page of your profile, your last name does not appear in full, only the first letter (initial) is displayed. Your profile picture is downloaded and stored securely in the data center, and the Mentallys application has no access to any other photos or videos stored on your device.
2.3. Optional information you choose to provide : the title and date of events in your care pathway, information on your crisis plan, and your results in symptom assessment questionnaires, are displayed in your profile, and may be accessed by healthcare professionals involved in your follow-up; your location data is used only if you authorize it to geolocate you on the interactive resource map, and is neither stored nor transmitted outside your device; your chat messages are transmitted securely and encrypted via Azure Communication Services, and are encrypted end-to-end, both in transit and at rest (only authenticated participants in the conversation can access messages, no third party can read them, not even Mentallys teams).
2.4. Confidentiality of information: information about you is confidential and, apart from yourself, no-one else has access to it, except in the case of follow-up with health professionals (who may have access to it).
All data collected is encrypted, both in transit and at rest.
The data collected is hosted at Microsoft's Canada East data center, located in Quebec City (Canada), and benefits from the highest standards of cybersecurity.
However, there is no such thing as zero risk when using digital technology, and Mentallys cannot guarantee that your information will not be subject to data interception or other uncontrollable cybersecurity events.
We recommend that you use private networks and personal electronic devices rather than public networks, in order to protect your personal information as much as possible.
The Mentallys App does not serve advertisements and does not collect data for advertising providers.
No advertising ID or device ID is used or shared with advertising providers.
The Mentallys App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to monitor the use and performance of the App.
The data collected for this purpose is saved anonymously and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
Data access: you can access your data on request.
Data deletion: you may request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Withdrawal of consent: you may withdraw your consent to data collection functions at any time, but this may limit certain features of the App.
Mentallys may update this Policy. If changes are made, we will notify you by revising the "Updated Date" at the top of this page or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of this revised Policy.
This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada.
